Aabadi Mountain Camp is located in the unspoiled Damaraland area, just about 20 kilometres away from Twyfelfontein and about 325 km from Etosha National Park.

Aabadi Mountain Camp is the perfect stopover between the Skeleton Coast and Etosha, or on the road to Kaokoveld. The rest camp is regularly visited by the famous desert elephant, which passes by for a drink or bath in our permanent waterhole. From the sundowner terrace you have a great view over the dry riverbed and you’ll notice the elephants from kilometres away. While enjoying a cool drink, just sit back and relax in this beautiful area!

Aabadi Mountain Camp has 5 safari tents, and a campsite with a maximum of 12 people on the campsite. There is a small restaurant, a sundowner terrace with a spectacular view and a small (souvenir) shop.

The safari tents are built against the mountains and overlook the riverbed or the camp. Each tent has its own parking place and lies at quite a distance from the neighbouring tents. The restaurant is within walking distance. Breakfast is included, but you are also more than welcome for lunch and dinner, or just a drink!

The campsite is spacious and lies at the riverbed. There are enough trees, so there is always shadow and privacy. There is a bush shower with only ‘cold’ water (heated by the sun) and flush toilet. The restaurant is within walking distance; here you can enjoy breakfast, lunch, dinner or just a drink. Each campsite has its own fire place/bbq, so it is also possible to prepare your own meal. Be sure you take enough food with you, there is no supermarket in the area!

Aabadi Mountain Camp is built and managed by three former neighbours from the Netherlands: Jan Willem van de Kamp and Tamara and Jeroen Verhoef. When they found out they shared a passion for southern Africa and photography, they decided to open a lodge in Namibia.

Through a chance meeting with Annicka Dellermark from Aabadi Bush Camp they got in contact with Lesley Gariseb from Aabadi Safaris. And that is where it all started. After months of negotiating, preparing and hard working they finally opened their Aabadi Mountain Camp in 2008.
