Alte Kalköfen Lodge was envisage and constructed to firstly conserve fauna and flaura in their natural habitat and secondly, to bring the experience of nature to mankind whilst maintaining the ecosystem of the area.

Ecological Practices is implemented in managing the fragile environment with every effort being made to keep nature and man in harmony.

The Lodge itself is set in a beautiful natural African garden where vast open spaces effortlessly combines with the rocky dessert area, Acacias and fascinating wildlife creating different "venues" to visit and experience on a daily basis.

ACCOMODATION

Alte Kalköfen Lodge offers 10, double or single, bungalows, built on the edge of the Gurib river, overlooking large Camel Thorn trees growing in the river bed. Needless to say, the spectacular surround provide inspiring and exceptional sunrise and sunset views from the comfort of your room. All units are equipped with comfortable beds and en-suite bathrooms.

Breakfast included for overnight guests.

RESTAURANT

The old farmhouse on the Simplon Farm has been restored to serve as the Lodge Reception Area and Restaurant. Delicious breakfasts, light lunches and home cooked evening meals are served throughout the day. We are fully licensed and open to the public and for functions. Join us for a cup of coffee at sunrise or a sundowner at sunset and experience the absolute silence and breathtaking views from the restaurant veranda.

DIRECTIONS TO ALTE KALKOFEN LODGE
Located in the in the heart of the South of Namibia on the dusty district road D462, Alte Kalköfen Lodge is situated 90 kilometres West of Keetmanshoop also affectionately known as "Hoofstad van die Suide" (directly translated as "Capital of the South").

Alte Kalköfen Lodge is the perfect base from which to visit focus points in the South and can easily be used as central location to visit amongst others the Fish River Canyon (170 km), Duwiseb Castle (250 km), Luderitz (230 km), Rosh Pinah (270km) and Sesriem (480 km).
