Welcome to Lapa Lange
This haven in nature is located 35 kilometres along the M29 road
on the way to Gochas on the edge of the Kalahari. It has sleeping
facilities for 21 guests in en suite self catering units as well
as en suite rooms which offer a dinner, bed and breakfast service.
Camping facilities are also available on the lawn or around the
water hole. Lapa Lange's restaurant offers uniquely Namibian country
style cuisine and can also serve a la carte meals when required.
Owners, Piet and Ems de Lange, however prefer to introduce visitors
to the traditional camp fire experience serving potjiekos and lapa
barbeques.
This offers a special treat to tourists unfamiliar with this well
loved Namibian cooking experience. According to the De Langes their
whole philosophy in the operation of Lapa Lange is based on the
principle of Namibian "Gemutlichkeit".
Lapa Lange has its own take on the so called Big Eight:
beer, braaivleis, biltong, boeretroos (coffee) big fires, black
diamond (karakul), boere music and beautiful black ladies in traditional
attire.
After a feast or a long relaxing walk the rock pool is the ideal
place to cool off and wash away any bit of remaining stress.
Visitors to Lapa Lange can enjoy a wide range of activities that
include walks in the game camp, a game drive or merely relaxing
next to the water hole and watching a variety of game come to drink.
Twenty different species of game are found on the 1 500 hectare
of the lodge.
The ideal get away for any nature lover. You can choose either
camping around the water hole or sit and relax at the lapa. Shower,
toilet, DSTV as well as braai facilities are available. The ideal
place for tour groups who wants to visit during daytime.
Conference rooms available for business partners. You can travel
by own vehicle through wild or can be taken on a day trip to see
game reserve.
There are over 17 different species of wild game to see. Across
lapa is a dam for fishing. A visit to Lange Lapa is something to
remember - try it and experience the peace and quiet of nature.
Lapa Lange Facilities
There are 5 self catering chalets with two double bed rooms. Fully
suited with barbeque's. We are also planning to build 18 more bungalows.
We constructed a pool bar over a waterhole that gives an extended
view of the surroundings, animals and uniquely arranged gardens.
Preparations have been made for info and conference centers able
to hold 60 persons. We are also busy with a camping area which has
private restrooms. In addition there's a restaurant, bar, fully
outfitted kitchen with a cool room and freezer.
We are also planning a Eco-Culture farm where tourists can observe
the following:
· The cultural group of our region is the Nama and are a
very unique culture. There will be on hand in depth experience into
their primitive culture.
· The Hoodia is a plant that can also be seen on the resort
that was used by the 'bushmen' for various uses and is used today
for medical and diet products.
· We have perfect sunsets and clear night skies for those
interested in astrology. We plan to setup telescopes for those who
want to study the 'Southern Cross' (found in this region).
· The farm right next to Lapa-Lange has red-dunes for camping
and buggy-rides
· The well known anthills on the farm is really fascinating
and we will like to share the whole build of these anthills with
our tourists. So come take an outing with us on our “Ant trial”.
We provide a wide variety menu and all food served is organic. We
believe that Lapa-Lange really has the potential to become a big
tourist attraction. We are really proud of the lodge and we believe
it's a oasis in the southern region
