Founded in1895 as a Mission Station, Ghaub has remarkable historic value.

The original buildings were meticulously renovated and additional buildings were erected in the same style. The historic character has thus been retained.

In the peaceful early mornings and tranquil late afternoons, visitors have the possibility of watching game, undisturbed by human presence, at a nearby waterhole.
