About Us
Sandfields Guesthouse is owned by Paul Liechti, Jean Downing (nee Liechti) and Richard Downing. Together, the Liechti-Downing combination offers a wealth of hospitality experience.

Paul has been a tour guide since 1992 taking groups to the far flung reaches of Namibia, neighbouring countries and even as far as North Africa. A more knowledgeable and congenial Namibian host you will not find.

Jean has been a prominent figure in Namibia's tourism industry for many years starting out consulting in 1992 and working her way up to chair the Tour and Safari Association of Namibia for two years. Jean worked as a tour guide and managed her own tour operator business.

After furthering her hospitality training in Cape Town, Jean met Richard and the Sandfields triumvirate was complete. Formerly a restauranteur, Richard now combines his architecture business with running Sandfields Guesthouse. Richard lovingly created Sandfields Guesthouse and it is his creative flair you will see in every minute detail of this exquisite accommodation in Swakopmund.

Location
Sheltered from the often icy wind that blows off the cold Benguela current of the Atlantic Ocean, Sandfields Guesthouse is situated one block back from the sea in a quiet, upmarket residential suburb of Swakopmund.
You can walk to the beach in a few minutes and Swakopmund town centre - with its restaurants, shops, markets and museums - is about five minutes by car from the guest house.
