Our backpackers lodge offers dormitory beds that are affordable.
There is also a range of twin, double and three bed rooms for those
wishing for more privacy.
Chameleon Guesthouse offers more upmarket accommodation, the private
rooms include ensuites and off street parking.
Both the guesthouse and backpackers are centrally located within
a few minutes walk from the city, with shopping centres, banks,
the post office and restaurants easily accessible.
The atmosphere is relaxed, friendly, informative and our aim is
to make you feel at home.
Breakfast is included each day as well as free tea and coffee.
We have a laundry service, Internet, swimming pool, video/lounge
room and bar for your convenience.
Chameleon Safaris also offer safaris all over Namibia, the Delta
and Vic Falls.
BY CAR
If driving from the airport you will enter the City on Sam Nujoma
Avenue, cross Independence Avenue and turn left into Mandume Ndemufayo
Avenue and travel south (towards Rehoboth). Take the first turn
left into Church Street, first turn left into Trift Street and sharp
turn left into Voight Street North. Entrance to both the Backpackers
and the Guesthouse is at #5 Voight Street North, Windhoek Central.
If travelling from the south you will enter Windhoek on Mandume
Ndemufayo Avenue, turn right into Church Street, left into Trift
Street and sharp left into Voight Street North. Entrance to both
the Backpackers and the Guesthouse is at #5 Voight Street North,
Windhoek Central.
If travelling from Swakopmund or the north you must travel down
Hosea Kutako Avenue and turn left into Sam Nujoma Avenue in Windhoek
West. Once on Sam Nujoma turn right into Mandume Ndemufayo (travelling
socuth towards Rehoboth), turn first left into Church Street, turn
first left into Trift Street and sharp turn left into Voight Street
North at the end of Trift. Entrance to both the Backpackers and
the Guesthouse is at #5 Voight Street North, Windhoek Central.
BY FOOT FROM THE CITY CENTRE AND INTERCAPE BUS
Travel south down Independence Avenue past Kalahari Sands Hotel,
turn right into Sam Nujoma Avenue at the Woerman and Brock Supermarket.
At the second traffic light turn left into Mandume Ndemufayo Avenue.
When you see the purple house walk up the slight embankment (very
slight) and travel straight down Voigt Street North for approx 200
metres and the Backpackers and Guesthouse will be on your left.
Takes approx 8 minutes to walk from the Intercape Bus Station.
