Kaoko Bush Lodge is a relaxed, authentic bush lodge situated just 8 km from Kamanjab in the Kunene Region of north-western Namibia, perfectly positioned en-route to the remote Kaokoland and Western Etosha. It’s ideal for adventurers, self-drive travellers and nature lovers looking for comfortable, unpretentious accommodation as a stopover or a base from which to explore Damaraland’s rugged landscapes, wildlife and cultural highlights.

Accommodation at Kaoko Bush Lodge

Kaoko Bush Lodge offers cosy, traditionally styled chalets surrounded by Mopane trees as well as shaded campsites, blending rustic charm with modern comfort. The recently renovated chalets feature thatch roofs and private verandahs, and all accommodation types come with essential comforts such as en-suite bathrooms, tea and coffee facilities and secure parking. Pets are welcome by arrangement.

A private chalet that comfortably sleeps 2 guests with two single beds, an en-suite bathroom (shower, toilet), and tea & coffee-making facilities. Each chalet has its own veranda with deck chairs, offering peaceful bush views.

Campsites

Spacious, shaded camping sites under indigenous trees, perfect for tents or small caravans, each with private ablution facilities and a traditional wood-fired hot-water boiler (“donkey”). There are braai facilities, onsite electricity, a wash-up area and running water. Up to 4 people per site.

Kaoko Bush Lodge Amenities and Facilities

Tuskers Restaurant is open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner and includes a fully licensed bar. Guests can relax at the swimming pool and enjoy wildlife viewing, with a nearby waterhole close to the restaurant. The lodge is set within a private game park with a wide variety of game and birdlife. Wi-Fi is available in the main areas, and the lodge operates on solar power with fresh underground spring water. Secure parking is provided at the chalets and campsites.

What To Do at Kaoko Bush Lodge

Guests can enjoy game drives, guided walks, bird watching and wildlife viewing at the lodge’s waterhole, as well as relaxing at the swimming pool. Nearby attractions include the Omusauna Himba Village, Western Etosha via the Galton Gate, ancient rock engravings at Peet Alberts Koppie and the Otjitongwe Cheetah Farm. Lodge staff are happy to assist with planning day trips and excursions.
