The Namib Desert runs down the west coast of Namibia, most of the Namib desert is inaccessable and most visits are done via Sesreim the main entrance to the Desert. Sossusvlei is 45km from Sesreim and visiting is only permitted during daylight hours Sossusvlei is where you climb a sand dune and watcth the sun rise, admiring the spectacular view of the desert changing colours as the sun first strikes them then warms them up. Sunset is also a magical time in the Namib desert with the beautiful Naukluft Mountains glowing in the setting ays of the Namibian setting sun.
